According to the Ministry of Education and Technical and Vocational Training 95% of students are now consistently attending school in the country since the return of in person learning.
Acting Director of Education, Dominique Russell spoke on the issue saying, “…our attendance has gone up to 95% were really excited about that. However we do have 5% of our children which represents about 2,000 of them across the archipelago who are inconsistent in their attendance and what I mean by that they may attend school Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday but they may take off Friday to work.”
Russell said that parents should keep in touch with their child’s school and teachers because sometimes what children say is different from what is actually happening. She also appealed to internet service providers to increase the bandwidth or the speed of their service as the ministry still wants to utilize online learning.
