A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect for Bimini and Eleuthera.
A severe weather warning is now in effect for North and Central Andros, New Providence and the Northern Exuma Cays along with their adjacent waters.
At 1;20 p.m., lightening detection, radar and satellite imagery depicted a cluster of showers with embedded thunderstorms associated with a mid to upper level disturbance, moving Northwards across and towards the mentioned areas.
Some of these thunderstorms will be severe at times causing strong gusty winds, dangerous lightning, heavy downpours, hail and possible waterspout or Tornadic activity. Localized flooding is also possible during the passage of these storms. Boaters in the warning area should seek safe harbour and residents in the warning areas should stay indoors and away from windwos when conditions worsen.
Residents should not seek shelter under trees or in water as these can become lightning conductors.
