Minister with responsibility for social services, the Hon. Myles Laroda gave an update on services being offered to persons displaced by demolition exercises carried out on local shanty towns.

Laroda told reporters, “I inspected the old Poinciana Inn where there is at least eighteen rooms that were suitable.  I don’t have the numbers on hand of how many individuals indicated that they wanted to stay.  There were varying levels of interest. Some individuals decided that they wanted to live with family members or other alternatives.  But there is an inventory of rooms for those who would have been impacted by the demolition.”
