Over the last few months, no single event has had more of a global impact than COVID-19. The novel coronavirus has reached pandemic status. In an effort to curb the transmission of the highly contagious disease, governments have urged social distancing practices to eradicate its spread. Curfews are commonplace, closed signs in shop windows are the new temporary norm, and worldwide, people have experienced a shift in their lifestyles. For many, the change in daily habits that includes spending more time at home has affected their furry four-legged companions.
The Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) is pleased to announce a partnership between Cable Bahamas/Aliv and the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) to connect patients with relatives via phone calls and video conferencing. The telecommunications company has provided fifteen (15) devices to the hospital on a three-month unlimited plan. The phones will be dedicated to our patients on our Children’s Ward, those in the Emergency Department and for updates regarding our little clients from our Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit.
The Ministry of Health provided swab testing (for possible coronavirus exposure) for more than 175 healthcare workers of the Princess Margaret Hospital and Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre, on Saturday, April 25, 2020.
