The Minister of Transport and Housing, the Hon. Jobeth Coleby-Davis commented on discussions concerning the increase in taxi fees outside of Cabinet this week. According to the minister there has been no update from the union since a postponed meeting last November.

“We told them well advise us when they return from Abaco when they’re available and I don’t think I’ve seen any communication since then, I could be wrong. I check my phones. I checked my emails. I didn’t leave anything on read. So I don’t know if there’s anything that came but I’m open to meet with the union, I’m okay to discuss what other issues that may have but what I would not stand for is the continued disrespect that comes every time the union speaks to the press. That’s not how I think we should run the business of the country, to should be with respect.”
