Police on the island of Grand Bahama provided an update on their investigation into the discovery of a decomposed, decapitated body found near a clinic on the island.

Police Press Liaison Officer Assistant Superintendent of Police Stephen Rolle said, “the police are investigating that matter as we speak and I can say that he has not been officially identified as yet. However sometime during this week we’ll have a confirmation on his identity. Also the police are awaiting the outcome of the autopsy. Once that is done we’ll determine exactly the cause of his death. At this point I can tell you that the matter is under active investigation.”

Rolle also appealed to members of the public with any information concerning missing persons to contact the police.
