n a powerful demonstration of inclusion and consultation of our “Family Island Communities” and civil society organization stakeholders in particular, a two day interactive National Capacity Building Workshop for “Proposal Writing for NGOS” was conducted in Grand Bahama.
The workshop accommodated twenty three (23) civil society organizations and was executed in conjunction with the Caribbean Policy Development Centre (CPDC), The European Union (EU) and Civil Society Bahamas (CSB).
The objectives of the workshop included further enhancement of the knowledge of participants on key elements of proposal writing; building skills and strategies to successfully write proposals; and to provide a space for participants to exchange knowledge, collaborate and share perspectives on proposal writing.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants were empowered to understand the concept and principles of project development for NGOS; learn the techniques for successful proposal writing and resource mobilization; and apply the strategies and techniques learnt to write successful project proposals.

President, Dr Anthony Hamilton said the event was a success, and attendees were empowered with knowledge and tools to become more effective in their operations, which will ultimately allow them to impact more people positively.
“As the apex body for Civil Society Organizations for The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Civil Society Bahamas searches for, and identifies, at any given time, the myriad of problems that confront our society, either on its own volition, or through the public at large and search for solutions to these problems,” he said.
“The solutions are derived after proper education and feedback from society through radio programs, television programs, town meetings, the internet and any other appropriate public forums.”
