On Friday, January 21, at approximately 9:30am a Bahamasair chartered flight departed New Providence bound for Port-au-Prince, Haiti with a total of fifty-nine (59) Haitian nationals onboard. Forty-seven (47) males, nine (9) females, and three (3) minors were among the group.
On the same day, ten (10) Cuban nationals were repatriated from New Providence to Havana, Cuba, at 12:00pm, onboard a Bahamasair flight. The group consisted of seven (7) males, two (2) females and one minor.
The Department’s deportation team led these escorts with all COVID-19 protocols strictly observed as the health, welfare, and safety of our officers, law enforcement counterparts, and migrants remain the highest priority in this COVID-19 environment.
