The question of when the COVID-19 pandemic would end was posed to Infectious Disease Specialist, Dr. Nikkiah Forbes. She said, “likely its going to be seasonal.”
Dr. Forbes explained, “there are going to be times where it goes up a little bit and there are going to be times when the curve flattens a bit. There are things that are going to contribute to that like circulating variants and maybe gatherings, our behavior certain times of year for example. And so it is good that it is not as severe as it used to be and just the general precautions will help. I really encourage everyone to be vaccinated and boosted, that will help to make COVID the severity of something like a cold or flu.”
Dr. Forbes also said that health officials will be monitoring other diseases over the holiday season like cold, flu and other respiratory diseases.
