He said, “ZNS, of course, has great content, not just news, of course, sports. In fact, I have myself when the Olympics comes around I sometimes tune into ZNS and of course listen to the commentary because of course, you have really excellent coverage of our Caribbean athletes. This is really a great initiative and I’m happy that this has continued and of course we’ll like to see it grow further.”
BCB General Manager, Clint Watson said the partnership makes sense. ”This is what we need to do more of in the Caribbean. Caribbean giants, in their various perspectives, partnering together to ensure that the people of the region are connected and have great opportunity and options to choose in great television. We are creating great television at the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas. Not only are we going to be a leader in the region in news and information but we’re going to be a leader in the region in great entertainment, great shows, great documentaries and of course our leading platform now in digital media.”
Also at the signing was BCB Deputy General Manager of Family Island Affairs, Darren Meadows who assured Digicel officials that the BCB will begin the process of engaging TCI producers in order for television shows from the island covering various topics can be viewed on ZNS.
For his part, BCB Executive Chairman, Picewell Forbes highlighted the BCB’s relaunch held in September 2023 saying, “recently at the Corporation we would have gone through an exercise where we would have had the relaunching and the rebranding at the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas, ZNS Radio and Television. We have some eighteen new programs and we should be in full effect come April of this year. So we’re excited, things are happening at the BCB and we’re glad to be here once again to sign in Providenciales so that what we’re doing in New Providence will also be seen here.”
