Police are actively investigating a fatal shooting which took place shortly after nine o’clock Tuesday night on Sugar Apple Street in Pinewood Gardens.

Police Press Liaison Officer, ASP Audley Peters says a man was killed during that incident.

“Officers responded and, on their arrival, they met a vehicle, which was a white Honda parked in the middle of the street with extensive damages.

“An examination of the vehicle revealed a male in the driver’s seat with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

“Emergency medical services were summoned. On their examination of the victim, the body was pronounced lifeless.

“This vehicle was travelling east on Sugar Apple Street when a small Japanese vehicle crossed the vehicle and the vehicle stopped. A passenger exited that vehicle and discharged a firearm in the direction of the driver; injuring him” he said.

The investigation is well underway, and ASP Peters made an appeal.

“Contact the Criminal investigation Department with whatever information they have at 502-9991.

The victim appears to be in his early twenties. Officers would have canvased the area and we have some information that will lead us on a track of investigation” he said.
