Mrs. Ann Marie Davis of the Office of the Spouse of the Prime Minister is a patron and supporter of all initiatives for the upliftment of persons with disabilities in the community.
On Saturday (September 19), she participated in launch ceremonies at Goodman’s Bay Park at which the Bahamas Public Parks and Beaches Authority installed Mobi-Mats to enable much easier beach access for those with challenges. The initiative is in keeping with the Ministry of Social Services national policy to make all public areas fully accessible to the community of those with disabilities.
Also present were the Minister of Works and Family Island Affairs, the Hon. Clay Sweeting; Chair of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities Nalini Bethel; President of the Bahamas Association for the Physically Disabled Charlotte Albury; as well as parliamentarians and officials.
Beaches around The Bahamas will have the mats installed.
