Prime Minister and Leader of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), the Hon. Philip Davis attended a chaplain symposium held by the Men’s Branch over the weekend at the Sir Lynden Pindling Center.
In his remarks, Davis told those in attendance, “your lives are a testimony to the scripture Matthew 23:11, the greatest among you will be your servant. The examples is a blueprint for how our faith can inform our actions in government ensuring that you remain true to the values we hold dear. Tonight let’s take inspiration from the words that we’ve heard. Let’s carry forth the message that our work is not merely a job but a vocation.”
Men’s Branch Chairman, Joe Johnson spoke with ZNS News about the event. “We decided to put this symposium on, a chaplain symposium on, to enhance our Chaplains, to empower them to impart the word, to be uplifting to all of our constituents that meet with us every single day. It’s important that the word of God, that this country is built on, is actually magnified,” Johnson said.
