The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) held a rally on the island of Bimini over the weekend.
Prime Minister and PLP Leader, the Hon. Philip Davis; Deputy Prime Minister and PLP Deputy Leader, the Hon. Chester Cooper and several PLP candidates addressed the crowd gathered.
Mr. Davis said, “who upgraded the airport here? Who built the new roads down south? Who increased that number of cruise ship arrivals coming in every day? That’s right the PLP. And with all this construction going on who in their right mind wants to reset this. Mind you, the FNM are so spiteful and desperate I wouldn’t put it passed them to tell the cruise ships to stop coming because they started under the PLP.”
Golden Gates candidate, Pia Glover Rolle also spoke of the party’s accomplishments while in office. She said, “throughout our nation we have 52 clinics being renewed with a focus on improving the healthcare across our nation and we have hundreds of miles of roads being paved and y’all gat some of that right here in Bimini.”
The former Member of Parliament for West Grand Bahama and Bimini, Kingsley Smith is now running in the new constituency of West Grand Bahama. He thanked residence for the confidence they had in him and asked them to support the PLP candidate for Bimini and the Berry Islands, Randy Rolle.
Rolle got emotional when taking the stage. He shared party supporters on Bimini some of the plans he has for the constituency. He said, “tonight, under the leadership of Philip Brave Davis affordable and quality homes are on the way. I met a family also in South Bimini who talked about the concerns they had about kids not having playground, not being able to play in a safe environment. I wish to tell you this evening also that under the next Davis administration we shall build that playground.”
The PLP will hold another rally on Monday on Gladstone Road in New Providence.
