The Free National Movement (FNM) recently announced the candidacy of former NBA player, Rick Fox to contest the Garden Hills seat in the next general election.
Prime Minister and Leader of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), the Hon. Philip Davis reacted to Fox’s candidacy while speaking with reporters on Wednesday revealed that Fox explored joining the PLP. He said, “Rick Fox did reach out to me and thinking to how to be a PLP standard bearer in this election and within about two to three days before he was nominated he was seeking nomination for either Killarney or Long Island.”
Fox previously announced his intention to run for the St. James seat as an independent candidate.
The Prime Minister said he make nothing of Fox’s move to join the FNM and they he never applied for a PLP nomination.
