The nation’s chief, and MP for Killarney, Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis, tabled a number of documents in the House of Assembly Monday, including the Proclamation of Emergency, which provides for the State of Emergency in the county to be extended for another six months. The country continues to grapple with a third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prime Minister Minnis also gave notice that at the next sitting of the house this coming Wednesday, May 19th, parliamentarians will debate a resolution to extend the Emergency Orders.
“It is our hope that we will not need the three months.
“It is our hope that with the vaccinations aggressively and progressively moving throughout the world, and with the cooperation of our populace following the mitigation protocols; we will be able to remove the Emergency Powers orders so that our people will go back to their normal lives” the Prime Minister said.
