The Royal Bahamas Police Force joins the Department of Labour and other government organizations now cashless, that means payments will now be made via debit or credit card or with cash at third party vendors Omni Financial, Sun Cash or Cash & Go.
Applications and payments can also be made online via mygateway.gov.bs.
These payments in the case of character references, gun license renewals, new gun license certificates, traffic reports, towing fees and chassis checks.
State Minister of finance, the Hon. Kwasi Thompson noting that such modern technology not only brings safer and more efficient ways of handling government payments but increases accessibility to services.
Family islands can expect cashless environments and online access to the Department of Labour and the RBPF by the end of the month. Meantime, the customs and road traffic departments are among the agencies scheduled to begin the transition by December.
