Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne Munroe recently spoke to the security at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
He said, “you have bad actors and you cannot control everything. The prison will institute its safety measures what has to do with persons coming out of a cell one at a time.”
The Minister went further stating, “there are many instances in the facility of inmates being injured and correctional officers being injured. The only long standing, long term solution to it is the new facility that will be purpose built and will have measures that cannot be activated in the structure that we have now.”
Munroe’s comments came after the recent fatal stabbing of BDOCS resident Brody Fritz at the facility.
