A man was shot and killed in the South Beach area on Tuesday afternoon.
Police on the scene provided details of the incident. Assistant Superintendent of Police Makelle Pinder told reporters, “the deceased, while standing at the back of his residence, was approached by an unknown male armed with a firearm. As a result the decease was chased on the inside of his home where he was shot multiple times by the assailant.”
Pinder further stated, “we are in the preliminary stages of our investigations. We have recovered a firearm as well as ammunition from the scene as well.”
According to police the home of the deceased man was shot at a few days before the murder took place.
Chief Superintendent of Police, Chrislyn Skippings was also on the scene of the incident where she made this appeal, “if you don’t have the skills to resolve conflicts we’re asking you reach out to the police department, reach out to Social Services, reach out to your churches, any organization, reach out so that we can provide you with the skills needed to resolve conflicts, as conflicts will occur.”
The deceased was known to police but had no matters before the courts at the time of his death.
