The Minister of Transport and Housing, JoBeth Coleby- Davis signed a transformative Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Road Traffic Department and the Motor Vehicle Training School Company Limited (MVTS) on March 2, 2022.
The objective of the MOU is to assist with strengthening the knowledge and skills of current and potential drivers of commercial vehicles, heavy duty vehicles, and heavy duty equipment operators.
The MOU is also to assist with ensuring that the proper inspection of these vehicles are carried out, in an effort to place the industry on par with international standards and best practices. The Minister hopes that the signing of the MOU will give life advancement to the
qualifications of the individuals within the industry — with the offer of international certification to drive the vehicles anywhere in the world, where Commercial Drivers’ Licence (CDL) certifications are recognized.
