Antiquities, Monuments and Museums Corporation (AMMC) Director, Don Cornish addressed employee concerns on Monday while speaking with reporters.
A member of the AMMC staff has questioned the reason for his termination. Cornish said that staff members have not brought any grievances to his attention. Cornish said, “there’s a union representative here, that individual represents all of the issues that are covered under the industrial agreement and there is a process by which they would bring those claims forward. So I can’t go based on what they tell a new reporter.”
According to the AMMC Director he has not received a request for a meeting about concerns about his leadership. “That was not an issue that was in the public domain, it was a dismissal issue and that has been settled as far as I’m aware.”
An executive from the Bahamas Public Service Union told ZNS News the union had intervened on two matters. In both cases the employees involved claim that mismanagement at the corporation may lead to industrial action.
President of the Bahamas Public Service Union was not available for comment.
