Bahamasair has acquired a new 737 jet which arrived in the capital on Wednesday.
Bahamasair Managing Director, Tracy Cooper was on hand for the arrival and said, “the aircraft is presently outfitted with 138 seats and that is pretty much what most of our 737-700s are fitted with.”
Cooper also addressed a recent incident where passengers on a combined flight to North Eleuthera were left in South Eleuthera at the Rock Sound Airport. Cooper explained, “what happened is really that we’re kind of really limited as related to after hour flying. Some of the airports that we cannot go into after hours. I know that other agencies are looking into these matters to remedy some of those but unfortunately on some of the airports when it becomes dark we’re limited going to those airports.”
The new aircraft arrived with the country’s 50th anniversary logo painted on each side.
