Deputy Prime Minister and Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) Deputy Leader, the Hon. Chester Cooper addressed the large crowd gathered at the Baha Mar Convention Center for the Party’s 2026 campaign launch on Monday.
Among other things, Cooper spoke about the administration’s accomplishments within his ministerial portfolio of tourism, investments and aviation. He said, “you cannot claim to love The Bahamas if you starved the islands that built it and that is why we launched the largest and most aggressive family island airport and infrastructure revolution in modern history. But let me tell you why we are doing it. We aren’t just pouring concrete, you know, we’re building the economic and digital runways for the next generation of Bahamians to take flight. Yes, infrastructure is access, it’s dignity and it is long term economic strength and none of this happens by luck or chance. It takes steady, thoughtful leadership. For as much as we have done, we are still not satisfied.”
The PLP has chosen the theme Choose Progress for this year’s election campaign.
