The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) held its official campaign launch event on Monday at the Baha Mar Convention Center under the theme Choose Progress.
The party showcased its full slate of candidates for the 2026 general election and informed of their accomplishments in government since assuming office in 2021.
Prime Minister and PLP Party Leader, the Hon. Philip Davis delivered the keynote address where he made the case for a second term. He said, “we can harness new advances in technology to accelerate our development. We can use our small size as an advantage and move quickly to innovate and lead. We can generate more opportunities for Bahamians than ever before and turn a brain drain into a brain gain.”
Mr. Davis also labelled the opposition as anti progress while detailing what his administration has done to revive the country. “I have to confess sometimes it’s hard not to laugh because no matter what fancy words they are throwing around they are always saying a version of the same thing. What are they saying? Yall ain’ cleaning up our mess fast enough. That’s what they are saying. The complaints amount to nothing more than that and ain’t that something.”
The Prime Minister said his administration will continue to open new doors for Bahamian ownership, success and prosperity.
