Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) Stalwarts who are senior citizens in the Marathon constituency got more than a meal for Thanksgiving Day. Member of Parliament for Marathon Lisa T. Rahming took the opportunity to celebrate them in a unique way.
MP Rahming and Team Marathon honoured these individuals with specially-designed PLP Stalwart Medallions and gave them gift baskets filled with personal care items and treats to enjoy. This Thanksgiving and Appreciation Luncheon honoured members of the Marathon Seniors Association and the wider community. They were treated to a hearty Thanksgiving meal and entertainment, including a performance by popular recording Rake N’ Scrape artist Blaudy.
“We wanted to do something special for the stalwarts who served in the PLP for so many years,” Rahming said.
“They were so excited to be draped with their Stalwarts Medallion – an item that many of them have not received since being installed as a Stalwart. The Stalwarts are the foundation of our party; the party’s icon. They are there to safeguard the party’s mandate.”
On hand to bring encouraging thanksgiving remarks were Mrs. Ann MArie Davis, Office of the Spouse, Deputy to the Governor General Mrs. Ruby Ann Darling, and Errington “Minky” Isaacs, who served as guest speaker. Mrs. Sharon Martin, National Tripartite Council, moderated the fun-filled event.
Every senior citizen in attendance received a gift item as a token of appreciation. Senior citizens in attendance expressed gratitude for a well-planned event that made them feel honoured and celebrated for thanksgiving.
