The Consumer Affairs Unit of the Ministry of Economic Affairs hosted an exhibition in observance of World Consumer Rights Day 2026 at the Harold DeGregory Complex Lawn on Friday, March 13, 2026.
The event brought together local entrepreneurs and vendors who showcased a variety of products and services, highlighting the role of consumers and businesses in strengthening the local economy.
Held under the theme, “Safe Products, Confident Consumers,” the exhibition provided an opportunity for community members to engage directly with local producers, learn more about consumer rights and responsibilities and support small and emerging businesses throughout the island.
Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey delivered remarks during the event, noting that, “The observance is a reminder that consumer protection is more than a regulatory function. It is essential to a fair, transparent and resilient economy and products are safe, properly labeled and responsibly marketed.”
“By continuing our collaboration, we will ensure a fair, dynamic and secure marketplace that benefits all,” she added.
She further highlighted the theme of the event.
“Safe products inspire confident consumers and confident consumers drive a thriving economy,” Minister Moxey said.
