Members of the Bahamas Public Service Union (BPSU), the Bahamas Communications & Public Officers Union (BCPOU) and the Bahamas Nurses Union (BNU) chanted, Fergie gat to go, on Thursday as they protested against ethics concerns and unanswered questions from President, Kimsley Ferguson.
BPSU Shop Steward for the Department of Social Services, Taronya Wildgoose told ZNS News, “we are simply asking him to bring receipts as to what was spent. We are asking him to show why all of the payments for the NIB (National Insurance Board) is still outstanding. We’re asking him to show why our building still don’t have insurance. So at this point I’m in full support with the membership because they need answers and they need it now. And no man is an island and unfortunately the unilateral decision he’s making by his sole self is unconstitutional.”
According to the BPSU Area Vice President the next step is to allow Mr. Ferguson seven days to respond to the allegations.
