It was announced in June that the government had budgeted $20 million to address the flooding issues in the Pinewood Gardens area.
Residents in the community have had to contend with extensive flooding once again this week following the passage of Tropical Storm Imelda which left street impassable due to
Minister of Social Services, Information and Broadcasting and Member of Parliament for Pinewood, the Hon. Myles Laroda revealed this week that a town hall meeting is planned for Friday at Cleveland Eneas Primary School to discuss the issue.
He said, “Francis Clarke who is the Senior Engineer in Maintenance and Construction will be there along with the team from the Minister of Works. And their going to give the residents of Pinewood all of the information as to what’s going to be happening and timelines about this remediation. Now, this is part of an IDB of some $100 million so remediation is not just gonna be twenty it’s actually one hundred but twenty for Pinewood.”
Laroda encouraged residents to attend the town hall and to asked any questions that they may have.
