The Progressive Liberal Party continued its Linkup event series in southwest New Providence on Monday.
During his presentation, Party Leader and Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis told supporters the upcoming by-election in Golden Isles is a must win. He said, “the world has plenty of performers, plenty of people who love to hear their own voice but the people who get things done, that is rare. You don’t find them often. That is the kind of person that Golden Isles deserves, someone to get things done.”
The party’s standard bearer for the Golden Isles constituency, Darren Pickstock, also addressed the large crowd gathered at Golden Gates Park on Carmichael Road.
Pickstock said he will be running on his record. “As Chairman of BAIC I’ve helped small businesses, small farmers and young entrepreneurs grow their businesses, secure land and get funding to start their own venture that promote Bahamian talent.”
The Prime Minister also outlined some of the accomplishments of his administration. “Look around your communities we still see many challenges but we can also see the changes. Homes rising where empty lots once stood. You would have heard earlier from the Minister of Public Services, Pia Glover, over fifty labour agreements signed, promotions for public servants restored, increments restored, two new hospitals underway, the school breakfast program, making sure our precious children start their day right. The National Youth Guard training a new generation for work and service, nationwide energy upgrades,” Mr. Davis said.
Pickstock will submit his document to officially be nominated in the Golden Isles by-election on Friday.
