The Bahamas has been elected to serve as a Vice Chair on the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Board of Directors for the next two years, securing one of two seats representing CARICOM member countries. The election took place during the CTO Annual General Meeting held as part of the State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC) in Georgetown, Guyana, where The Bahamas delegation was led by Parliamentary Secretary Randy Rolle. The appointment places The Bahamas in an important leadership role within the Organization, with the Board providing governance and oversight of CTO’s operations and helping to guide the implementation of its strategic priorities on behalf of the regional tourism sector. In this capacity, The Bahamas will be represented by Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Glenys Hanna Martin, with Director General Jackson Weech serving at the technical level, further strengthening the country’s contribution to regional tourism cooperation and the work of the CTO.
