The Ministry of Education and Technical and Vocational Training continues to expand digital literacy and workforce readiness throughout The Bahamas.
Partnering with the Bahamas Government, DigiLearn Bahamas has announced that registration is now open for its Free Digital Skills Courses set to begin on January 26, 2026 for citizens as a way to empower all Bahamians.
The courses will also be delivered in partnership with the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) and will be offered through a combination of in-person, hybrid and virtual learning platforms.
Training will be available at BTVI campuses on Grand Bahama, New Providence, North Andros and Exuma, as well as at Instructional Service Centres on select Family Islands.
The programme offers a range of course stacks designed to meet the needs of beginners through advanced learners. Areas of instruction include digital literacy, Microsoft applications, computer skills for senior citizens, business essentials, e-commerce essentials and cybersecurity essentials.
The training focuses on practical computer and technology skills designed specifically for seniors, enabling participants to use digital tools safely and effectively in their daily lives.
The initiative is intended to equip participants with practical, in-demand digital competencies relevant to today’s workplace and business environment.
Officials say the DigiLearn Bahamas initiative supports national goals of workforce development, economic diversification and digital inclusion by ensuring that Bahamians of all ages have access to essential technology skills.
