Police are investigating the shooting death of a man that occurred on Fire Trail Road on Wednesday.
Police Press Liaison Officer Chief Superintendent Sheria King provided details of the incident to members of the media at the scene. She said, “around 9:30 this evening, police was alerted to a shooting on Fire Trail Road east where when officers arrived on scene they discovered an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body. Our preliminary reports indicate that the deceased was seated in his vehicle just outside his residence when a male suspect, masked, approached him in his vehicle, produced a firearm, and discharged that firearm in the direction of the victim, fatally wounding him.”
The Chief Superintendent also assured that police officers are on the ground fighting crime. “We have operation units out there. We have our mobile units out there. We have our divisional station units that are out there patrolling. So we’re gonna continue doing what we can do in order to make certain that the Bahamian public feels safe within their communities.”
The victim was in his early thirties. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the police.
