Members of Parliament were questioned by the media on their involvement with FTX Digital Markets.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation, the Hon. Chester Cooper responded to questions about the impact on FTX’s collapse on tourism. He said, “we have a significant marketing machinery. We’ve been doing a lot of missions around the world and its all positive for tourism.” As to the FTX collapse he had no comment except to deny that he was invested in the company.
The Hon. Wayne Munroe, Minister of National Security was asked about the police investigation of the matter. He said, “no I’m not briefed on operational matters. I will be briefed if there is something that is at my level, which is a policy level. So the police, as the commissioner said, are mindful that there are suggestions there may have been impropriety. And so, as the police they’re checking to see as things go along if there is any indication in which case, they will do what they do best, which is to investigate.”
