Several prospective candidates for the Progressive Liberal Party were interviewed by the party’s candidates committee on Thursday. This list included prominent businessman, Sebas Bastian.
A large number of Bastian’s supporters stood outside of PLP headquarters on Farrington Road in support of his possible nomination. Vasco Bastian, a relative, spoke highly of Bastian. He said, “our family member, Sebastian Bastian. A proven businessman, a visionary leader, someone who cares for the people and cares for this country.”
After meeting with the committee Bastian told reporters, “I’m just happy that I have it behind me now. It’s evident from the support out here the choice should be clear but even if I’m not selected I will still support whoever is.”
Bastian also said that he now has a higher purpose than running his various . He said, “I have over twenty companies and I’m only the CEO of one. I didn’t build my businesses by myself. I have more than competent teams for continuity in those businesses. I’m here to serve. I have a higher purpose now and I’m gonna focus on that.”
Prospective candidate for Long Island, Reneika Knowles also appeared before the PLP candidates committee on Thursday. She spoke to the positive attributes of Long Islanders and said that the resident need someone who can get the job done.
The committee has yet to announce it’s decisions on any of the potential candidates.
