The Progressive Liberal Party held a rally in West End, Grand Bahama on Monday. Party Leader, the Hon. Philip Davis; Deputy Leader, the Hon. Chester Cooper along with the five standard bearers for Grand Bahama spoke at the event.
Candidate for Marco City, Eddie Whan told the crowd it’s time to remove every obstacle and highlight the path forward with the PLP.
Dr. Monique Pratt, the East Grand Bahama candidate promised relief to parents in that community. She also announced that the Sweeting’s Cay Primary School and Homework Center will reopen this Wednesday.
Attorney Parkco Deal will contest the Central Grand Bahama seat. His campaign theme is Seal The Deal.
Former Member of Parliament for West Grand Bahama and Bimini, Kingsley Smith is now contesting the West Grand Bahama seat. He spoke of the progress that has been made since his victory in the 2023 by-election. He said, “we have done in two and a half years, even with layers of bureaucracy, what other couldn’t do in four and a half years.”
Minister For Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey touted the results she has delivered for her constituents. “Heritage, you waited eighteen years for a road. They gave you excuses. You asked for a safe place for your children and we delivered two parks. Those are receipts. Freeport Ridge, you spent decade navigating holes. Today, 1.5 miles of road is being laid down. That is not talk, that is action.”
The keynote address was made by Prime Minister Davis. He covered topics like the Grand Lucayan Resort redevelopment deal and the arbitration between the government and the Grand Bahama Port Authority. He said, “there’s real progress on the Grand Lucayan. Did you see the MSC announcement this week? Like I have said all along, it’s real. These candidates were with us when we decided to do what no other government in The Bahamas has ever done. They were with us then. Who took on the Grand Bahama Port Authority and won?
The Progressive Liberal Party will hold its next rally in Exuma on Friday.
