The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) ratified its first tranche of candidates to contest seats in the next general election on Thursday.
This group included businessman Sebastian Bastian set to run in Fort Charlotte and Sen. Hon. Darren Pickstock who is expected to be the party’s standard bearer for Golden Isles in the up coming by elec.
During his remarks Party Leader and Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis told the large crowd gathered at PLP Headquarters that a by election is coming. He also told supporters, “we have to continue doing all we can to expand opportunities for Bahamians. That has always been at the heart of our mission, to make sure every Bahamian no matter where they live has a fair chance to build a good life.”
Among the other candidates ratified were Fred Mitchell for Fox Hill, Keith Bell for Carmichael, Pia Glover-Rolle for Golden Gates, Jobeth Coleby-Davis for Elizabeth, Jomo Campbell for Centreville, Bacchus Rolle for South Beach, Jamal Strachan for Nassau Village, Mario Bowleg for Garden Hills, Leslia Miller for Seabreeze , McKell Bonamy for Mt. Moriah, Leon Lundy for South Andros and Mangrove Cay and Myles Laroda for Pinewood.
