This past holiday season, 169 Bahamian children, ages 4 to 16, received dolls, craft kits, puzzles, basketballs and other items thanks to a heartwarming collaboration between Diamonds International, the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), and Royal Caribbean Group (RCG)
The Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation’s Cruise and Maritime Department coordinated the FCCA’s 27th Annual Holiday Gift Project, bringing the connections together. The New Providence arm of the Boys and Girls Club of The Bahamas, which brought youth from inner-city communities, received the presentation at the Stephen Dillet Primary School.
Sam Rolle, the leader of The Boys and Girls Club of the Bahamas, expressed his gratitude: “The energy at this event was electrifying, and the joy on the children’s faces was priceless. We deeply appreciate the corporate sponsors for bringing happiness to these boys and girls, and we eagerly look forward to next year’s program.”
“To see the smiles on each child’s face warmed our hearts,” said Robert D.L. Sands, cruise and maritime facilitation director at the Ministry of Tourism. “We appreciate continuing partnerships that make moments like this truly special for organizations such as The Boys and Girls Club.”
Diamonds International, known for its luxury fine jewellery and watches, played a central role in creating this magical day. Tables overflowed with thoughtfully selected gifts for the children, and the Diamonds International team, also representing the FCCA, relished the opportunity to personally distribute the presents to the young recipients.
“We are honoured to be part of such a meaningful initiative,” said Shivan Sareen, Diamonds International Bahamas General Manager. “We organized the purchases and got our team involved. Our giving back to the community is at the heart of who we are, and my team and I are truly humbled to share in this magical time with the kids. We wanted to make their Christmas merry and bright.”
