With the spirit of Christmas already in the air, the Ministry for Grand Bahama hosted the residents of Grand Bahama to a night of holiday bliss filled with lots of lights, love, laughter and good food.
‘Holidays in the City’ was staged in the heart of Downtown Freeport on Friday, December 6, 2024.
Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey welcomed those young and old to the sights and sounds of ‘Holidays in the City’ that brought forth games, live entertainment and a few characters, including Santa Claus.
“Tonight we unite to fellowship and kick off the Christmas season by celebrating with the kids, our neighbours, family and friends,” she said.
Minister Moxey acknowledged the resilience and strength in the residents of Grand Bahama in the face of recent adversities, and expressed her gratitude to everyone for their support during the journey to realizing Grand Bahama’s full potential.
She also noted that she is encouraged by the progress witnessed this year, namely the new businesses, increased tourism arrivals, new construction of several projects and the relocation of businesses to the downtown area.
“Grand Bahama is on the move and I have great expectations for Grand Bahama as we look forward to 2025,” she said.
The night went down in history under the stars with performances by K.B., The Core, Sunland Baptist Academy, Sharade Taylor, Bahamas Dance Theatre, gifts for the kids, photos with Santa, a tree lighting and Junkanoo rush out.
