The Progressive Liberal Party held a mass rally at the BAIC Park in Marsh Harbour, Abaco on Wednesday.
The list of speakers including both Abaco candidates, Bradley Fox Jr. for Central and South Abaco and Kirk Cornish for North Abaco.
Cornish, who is seeking re-election, told supporters, “there is still more work to be done. More roadworks, more work on our sporting facilities. We are bringing the eight lane track to Abaco.”
For his part, Fox reminded Abaconians of the PLP’s efforts to restore the economy after Hurricane Dorian. He said, “we’re not where we need to be yet but we’re not where we used to be because we’re seeing real progress. Our economy has been restored. We see it in the amount of boats in our marinas, the amount of jets on the tarmac, homes are being constructed, families have returned home, communities are being rebuilt and hope is being restored.”
The keynote address was delivered by Prime Minister and Party Leader, the Hon. Philip Davis. He warned that the progress accomplished will be erased if the Free National Movement is elected. He said, “we have our new Blueprint For Progress setting out the way forward, providing you with the details of how we intend to expand opportunities for you to learn, to earn and to own. We are making progress where previous governments failed or lacked the courage.” The Prime Minister then quipped that no every one is Brave.
Several cabinet ministers were also in attendance including Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon. Chester Cooper, Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey, Minister of Transport and Energy, the Hon. Jobeth Coleby Davis and the Minister of Works and Family Island Affairs, the Hon. Clay Sweeting.
