Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne Munroe called on members of the public to be cognizant of who they are associating with and to assist the police while appearing at a press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister on Thursday.
These comments came after two men were shot and killed in a home on Johnson Alley off Wulff Road on Wednesday night bringing the murder count to 60.
According to the minister one of the victims went by the nickname ‘Hornyman’. He was reportedly being electronically monitored at the time of the shooting.
Munroe recounted being informed of another incident by police. He said, “I saw a troubling brief from the police where a young man presented at the hospital with a gunshot wound. The police attended to question him and he told them his doesn’t need their help, that they will see him again and he will be locked up.”
The Minister told reporters the country has limited resources and the most limited are our people. “So anytime any person is murdered that is a matter of national importance,” he said.
Munroe informed that perpetrators now range from the age of 15 grew up among us.
