Khandi Gibson of Families Of All Murdered (FOAM) is sharing her views on the recent spate of murders over the holidays into the new year.
Gibson spoke to the indiscriminate actions of those who kill in the wake of a double homicide that occurred this week where a female passenger in a vehicle was killed along with the male driver. She said, “if you’re in the vicinity or the area or even a driver or even a person in the same home when they come for the intended target, which in my opinion there shouldn’t be no intended target, because no one has the rights to kill anybody. But if you are there when they open fire whatever casualty is it could be you and you’re innocent bystander. And people always talking about, oh he was known to the police, or that’s a prolific offender or they were out on bail. I don’t look at someone past. I don’t look at what they’re alleged to be. I look at the trauma and the grieve and the brokenheartness it brings the families, mainly the children. Because we have a lot of children now growing up never ever getting the chance to meet their fathers.”
Gibson advised that a person whose life is under threat should leave the country. ”When you families get you out the country or off the island don’t carry your criminality or what you was known as in Nassau to different places. You on a low profile. You don’t need no Facebook. You need no Whatsapp. You need no social media, you understand me. He who runs away, live to see another day. You have nothing to prove to nobody, just leave.”
The FOAM President is planning to meet with the families of those who have been murdered recently in this week.
