The Free National Movement (FNM) held a rally on Dorsett Park in Mangrove Cay, Andros on Wednesday.
Party Leader, Michael Pintard voiced his support for Central and South Andros candidate, Julian Gibson and advanced his plans for the family islands. He said, “the family islands have produced iconic Bahamian leaders. Persons who had access to less and yet they emerged to help transform this country and any other country they’ve gone to they made a contribution. We believe that the children of Mangrove Cay, of South Andros and Central deserve the attention of the government. And in the same way they are allocating resources to their community, they need to do the same here in Mangrove Cay, South Andros and Central.”
FNM Deputy Leader and candidate for St. James, Shanendon Cartwright also addressed the crowd. He urged them to vote for what’s best for the country. “This is a fight for our country. This is a fight for the heart and soul of the Bahamian people. So while the Progressive Liberal Party talks about choose progress, you must choose country. We must go up and down all across Andros and all across the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and tell our family members, our friends, whoever we know that this is about country.”
The Mangrove Cay, Central & South Andros candidate ensured residents that under the FNM longstanding issues would be addressed. He also said, “in my heart I believe that if Exuma and Long Island could go on the TV, Mangrove Cay can also go on the TV. FNM government, we take regattas seriously. I am prepared to tell you tonight that under the leadership of Michael Clifton Pintard regattas budgets will increase.”
The general election is scheduled to be held on May 12th.
